Klinsmann: Bayern for the title

Defiant Jurgen Klinsmann still believes Bayern Munich will win the Bundesliga title this year following his sacking.

The former Germany manager lost his job at the Allianz Arena following Sunday's 1-0 defeat to Schalke, which left them three points off the pace set by league leaders Wolfsburg.

Klinsmann's future had been in doubt since his side were heavily beaten by Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals, but the now former coach still believes they will be successful domestically.

"Of course I'm disappointed at the moment," said Klinsmann.

"However, I'd like to thank from my heart Bayern Munich, the fans, the training staff, the players and all the other workers for an eventful time.

"We have laid the foundations for the future. I still believe that this team will end up as Bundesliga champions this season."
