Kaiser expects Toni departure

President Franz Beckenbauer wants to keep Luca Toni at Bayern Munich but has conceded it will be difficult to retain the unsettled striker.

Toni has declared his intention to leave the Bundesliga and return to Serie A in the January transfer window following an uneasy relationship with Bayern coach Louis van Gaal.

But while Beckenbauer would like to keep the Italy frontman at the club, he has accepted that a determined Toni is likely to be granted his wish.

"I like Toni as a player and as a person. He has done a lot in Munich and Bayern have given a lot to him," he explained.

"I would like to keep him but if he wants to go then he should go."

Toni has been out in the cold at the Allianz Arena since walking out on the team at half-time when he was substituted during a Bundesliga game against Schalke last month.
