Irreplaceable Ribery dreams of European glory

France midfielder Franck Ribery has said his dream is to win the Champions League and labelled his Bayern Munich team one of the best in Europe after their victory over Manchester City.
The 28-year-old worked tirelessly in both attack and defence on Tuesday in Bayern's 2-0 win at Munich's Allianz Arena and the victory leaves his side two points clear at the top of Group A.
Bayern coach Jupp Heynckes singled out both Ribery and fellow midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger for praise after the City win and said the pair's performances had been 'world-class'.
"The final would be a dream for us, for me it's important I win the Champions League with Bayern Munich," said Ribery, with Munich set to host the final in May next year.
"What's happening here is incredible, at the moment we are one of the best teams in Europe."
Striker Mario Gomez, who netted twice against City, said Ribery's skills as a playmaker have made him 'irreplacable' for Bayern, who are two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga and have won their last 10 games without conceding a goal.
"Franck is in the sort of form he has to keep up," said Gomez.
"He is irreplaceable for us and would be indispensable for any other team."
Meanwhile Bayern captain Philipp Lahm -- Ribery's partner down the Bayern left -- praised the Frenchman for his work at both ends of the field.
"He puts in plenty of work in defence, he worked up and down for 85 minutes from front and back and he made all the difference to us."
Having been given a new lease of life under new coach Heynckes, Ribery said he is enjoying working with the veteran boss.
"He's not like a father to me, but almost, I think it's really important to get on well with him," said Ribery.
"I give 100 percent effort for him, it makes my head a lot lighter.
"I do what he wants in attack and defence.
"I have become a completely different person over the past two years.
"My head feels free, my body feels good."
