Family-guy Robben, Ribery sit out for Bayern

Bayern Munich stars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery missed training on Wednesday with Robben expected to become a father again, while Ribery is nursing a sore back.

Having scored Bayern's second goal in Saturday's 2-0 German league win over Wolfsburg, Robben left training early to go to a Munich clinic after his wife Bernadette went into labour. The couple are expecting their third child.

With temperatures in Munich well below freezing, Ribery was also absent from the training pitch and worked out indoors as he continues to suffer from a sore back.

Both stars are expected to return to training on Thursday with Bundesliga leaders Bayern to face Hamburg in the north German city on Saturday night.

Bayern are top of the league by virtue of goal difference and are level with rivals Dortmund and Schalke 04 on 40 points.
