Defender seeks Bayern exit

Belgian central defender Daniel van Buyten has admitted that he will look to leave Bayern Munich this summer in search of more regular first-team football. The 31-year-old has had to settle for a place on the bench for much of the current campaign and is less than happy at that position. He told Kicker: "The people at Bayern have to make clear whether they still need me or whether I'm surplus to requirements. "I feel like other players get way more chances to prove their worth. I'm sick of warming the bench and I'm ready to move on." Van Buyten joined Bayern in the summer of 2006 from Hamburg, having previously impressed in France with Marseille.
