Champions League final star player: Mario Gomez - Bayern Munich

Gomez joined Bayern Munich from Stuttgart in 2009 for a fee estimated to be €30–35 million.

He is enjoying the best goalscoring season of his career, with an astonishing 13 goals in 13 Champions League games this season.

The German international forward also found the net in the 2-1 first leg win over Real Madrid, scoring late on to give Bayern a vital first-half advantage.

Gomez also has 51 caps for his country, scoring 21 times.

He recently put pen-to-paper on a new contract at Bayern Munich, keeping him at the club until 2016.
