The Bundesliga is the best supported football league in the world, according to a claim from its general manager Christian Muller.
The German top-flight has reported a five per cent increase in attendances for the first half of the current season, with an average crowd of 42,115 fans now visiting each league game despite the current global financial downturn.
"The Bundesliga remains a magnet for the fans, even in times of crisis," said Muller.
"With over 42,000 fans per game, the Bundesliga continues to be the strongest supported football league in the world.
"If this development continues, it is highly likely that we will be reporting the eight consecutive crowd record at the end of the season."
