Bayern Munich's honorary president Franz Beckenbauer blasted his side's latest poor result, a 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen which left the reigning champions 14 points off the Bundesliga pace.
Borussia Dortmund appear to be the side to beat in Germany this season and while they won 2-1 at Freiburg, Bayern were held in the BayArena.
An angry Beckenbauer told Sky: "They made mistakes like in playschool. They are not good enough to win the league like this.
"They (Dortmund) are simply in another league at the moment. They are light years away from the rest."
Bayern head coach Louis van Gaal refused to be quite so downbeat, adding: "We have now gone nine games without defeat.
"We could have won also and I think we still have a title chance, but Dortmund certainly have the best chance. We have thrown away two points again, just like against Borussia Monchengladbach."
