Bayern set sights on Neuer

Bayern Munich have confirmed that they are keen to sign Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer this summer.

The 23-year-old has emerged as the top target for the Bavarian giants, with Michael Rensing having struggled to impress at times this season.

General manager Uli Hoeness told Bild: "There is only one goalkeeper who currently interests us.

"This is Manuel Neuer of Schalke and we have informed Schalke of our interest."

Neuer, a regular in the Germany Under-21s set-up, was recently called up for the senior side's summer tour of Asia.
