Bayern set for quiet summer

Bayern Munich's general manager Uli Hoeness says that the Bundesliga champions will not embark on a spending spree this summer.
Bayern have already snapped up Werder Bremen midfielder Tim Borowski on a free transfer, but Hoeness says no major deals are in the offing after Gennaro Gattuso decided to stay with AC Milan.
Hoeness told Bild: "We have already signed Tim Borowski, an international after all.
"I am not of the opinion that we need to buy players every year. We were very interested in AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso. Unfortunately that did not come off.
"But it does not make any sense to say 'if we don't get Gattuso then we will buy someone so that we have bought someone'.
"Last year there was a real need to strengthen the team. This year it is not the case. I can imagine us starting next season with our present squad."
