Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has blamed defensive errors for his side's inconsistent form this season.
After making a dire start to the campaign, Bayern had ended the first half of the season in good form but, since the winter break, defeats at Hamburg and Hertha Berlin have seen them slip to fourth in the Bundesliga.
Victory against Hertha would have lifted Bayern to the top of the table, with a frustrated Rummenigge saying: "What happened on Saturday in Berlin was really irritating, because it was a huge opportunity to go top.
"We've been working our way towards it for a while now, and we haven't been as close as we were on Saturday.
"We're playing good football, and we were the better team in both Hamburg and Berlin.
"But we have two big areas for improvement. On the one hand, we have to cut out the defensive errors which led to Hertha's opening goal, and on the other, we have to take more of our chances."
