Bayern Munich ace Franck Ribery is facing a lengthy spell out of action after suffering suspected ankle ligament damage in the 2-1 win at Hoffenheim.
Ribery was injured as he helped set up his side's equalising goal just past the hour mark in the Rhein-Neckar-Arena, with Bayern head coach Louis van Gaal fearing a serious setback.
He told the club's official website: "I think it's serious, he'll be looked at tomorrow and we'll receive a diagnosis after that."
Club chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was just as downbeat, adding: "He could be out for a long time, the initial diagnosis does not look good.
"It could be that something is broken or there could be some serious ligament damage."
Ribery missed part of last season with knee problems, before signing a new contract tying him to Bayern until the summer of 2015.
