Bayern Munich appear to be winning the race to sign Real Madrid misfit Arjen Robben, after confirming they are in discussions to sign the winger.
The Dutchman appears set to be part of a mass exodus from the Bernabeu following a summer of huge spending and has been linked with a move to England throughout the summer.
But it has emerged that the Bundesliga giants are the only team to put in an official offer for the player, as the club admitted they are talking to the former Chelsea flyer in a statement on their official website.
Robben could be set to play on the left flank at the Allianz Arena, as star man Franck Ribery is to be tested in a central role.
Reports have speculated a fee of 25million euros for his transfer.
Meanwhile, Robben has spoken of his sadness at being poised to exit Real, telling Marca: "I didn't want to go, but the club wanted to sell me.
"There have been many lies, but at the end of the day I have to decide what's best for me, because I want to play and to show everyone the footballer I am.
"I feel good about Bayern though."
