Bayern: Hands off Podolski

New Bayern Munich coach Jurgen Klinsmann has warned potential suitors that he has no intention of letting Lukas Podolski leave the Allianz Arena.

The Germany international striker has been linked with several other Bundesliga sides following an impressive Euro 2008 campaign.

Podolski has struggled to hold down a starting berth at Bayern, but newly-installed coach Klinsmann expects him to be a vital part of his squad in the coming season.

Both Werder Bremen and Schalke, plus Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, have been linked with moves for Podolski.

"I already said before the European Championship that I am absolutely building on Lukas," said Klinsmann.

"Lukas has so much potential, so much in him, that it has to still be further developed.

"It is up to me to give him a prospect of getting his games."
