Mario Gomez moved to Bayern Munich from VfB Stuttgart for a Bundesliga record.

The fee was rumoured to be around 35million euro. Upon a relatively poor first season by his standard, he only managed 10 goals in 29 appearances. The next season, was the Gomez of old. Gomez finished the 10/11 season with 28 goals, as well as 8 goals in the Champions League.

Although Bayern were eliminated by Inter Milan. In all competitions, Gomez finished with 39 goals. In 2011, Gomez was so deadly infront of goal he managed 50 goals throughout the calendar year. He was also prolific infront of goal in the Champions League, again, with 11 goals. Gomez's goals helped Bayern get to the final however it was not be as they lost on penalties to Chelsea.

Mario Gomez – Second Season Inspiration - A lacklustre first season from Gomez at Bayern Muncih saw him score only 10 goals in 29 league appearances. His second season saw Gomez top the charts in the Bundesliga aswell as scoring 8 Champions League goals. He continued this rich run of form into the following season, 11/12, scoring his 50th goal for Bayern, 11 goals in The Champions League and 3 goals at EURO 2012.
