Berlin's Olympic Stadium and Munich's Allianz Arena have applied to be Germany's host city for the Euro 2020 finals, with the German Football Federation (DFB) set to decide which will be their official candidate on August 30.

"With both these cities, we have two strong applicants," said DFB general secretary Helmut Sandrock with Euro2020 to be held at 13 stadiums in 13 countries across Europe while Euro 2016 will be hosted exclusively by France.

"Both have proven in the past that they are excellent locations for major football events."

Berlin, which will host the 2015 Champions League final, held the 2006 World Cup final, while Munich has often hosted Germany's home internationals and was the venue for the 2012 Champions League final.
