In a move that will surprise precisely nobody, Manuel Neuer has been named the best goalkeeper in the world.
The Bayern Munich stopper has been voted number one by the catchily-named International Federation of Football History and Statistics. Yeah, you know – the International Federation of Football History and Statistics.

The good people at the IFFHS (whoever they are) asked a bunch journalists and experts from all over the world to vote for the best keeper of 2014, and they overwhelmingly went for the Germany World Cup winner ahead of Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.
The top 10 looked like this:
1. Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich/Germany) 216 points
2. Thibaut Courtois (Atletico Madrid/Chelsea /Belgium) 96 points
3. Keylor Navas (Levante/Real Madrid/Costa Rica) 46 points
4. Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus/Torino /Italy) 26 points
5. Claudio Bravo (Real Sociedad/Barcelona/Chile) 16 points
6. Sergio Romero (Monaco/Sampdoria/Argentina) 14 points
7. Guillermo Ochoa (Ajaccio/Malaga/Mexico) 13 points
8. Petr Cech (Chelsea/Czech Republic) 4 points
