Frankfurts Rode to join Bayern

Germany Under-21 midfielder Sebastian Rode will join Bayern Munich, either at the end of the season or when his contract expires in 2014, Eintracht Frankfurt CEO Heribert Bruchhagen has revealed.

After it was announced on Tuesday that Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Goetze would join Bayern in July having actioned a release clause in his contract, Rode is the latest young talent to be recruited by the Bavarians.

Rode's Frankfurt team-mate, centre-back Jan Kirchhoff, has said he will join Bayern in July on a free transfer, but Bruchhagen has said Munich's financial clout, plus the arrival of Pep Guardiola as head coach in July, tempts talent.

"Why does Jan Kirchhoff go to Bayern? Why does Sebastian go too?" he said in an interview with German daily Bild on Thursday.

"My God, these are young people. They can earn four times as much money at Bayern as they can here.

"End of story. The budget at Eintracht is 30 million euros, it's 150 million at Bayern."

Bayern Munich are enjoying a record-breaking season, having been confirmed Bundesliga champions with six games left, and are bidding to become the first German team to win the treble of European, cup and league titles.
