Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly set to appoint his son Davide as his new assistant coach, should Paul Clement agree to become Swansea's new manager.

Clement was given permission by the Bundesliga club on Monday to negotiate terms with the Swans and he is expected to be unveiled as their new manager imminently.

Ancelotti would therefore be left without an assistant, but according to Germany's Bild newspaper he is set not only to promote from within his own club, but from within his own family.

Davide has been working as one of Ancelotti's assistants at Bayern this season and the father-and-son combination is now expected to work even closer together following Clement's departure.

The 27-year-old's relationship with the players is reported to be strong since he already has a much better grasp of the German language which his father admitted in La Gazzetta dello Sport he cannot get his head round, citing that as the only negative aspect of his first six months in charge of Bayern.

Davide previously helped his father as a fitness coach at his previous clubs Paris St Germain and Real Madrid and he is now set to be given more responsibility at Germany's record champions.
