Champions League final star player: Bastian Schweinsteiger - Bayern Munich

Schweinsteiger scored the final and match-winning penalty against Real Madrid in the semi-final to elevate Bayern into the 2012 UEFA Champions League final.

The 27-year-old has been a key member of the Munich side for a number of years, having made his debut for the club in 2002.

Schweinsteiger has won five Bundesliga titles, five German cups and two league cups and is currently the vice-captain of the club.

With 76 European appearances for the club, he is one of the more experienced Champions League players in the squad.

Having been converted from a wide-right position into a more central role, the midfielder has enjoyed huge success at both club and international level.

He has 90 international caps for Germany with 23 goals for his country.
