Carlo Ancelotti pleased with Bayern reaction

Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti praised his side's reaction to recent results after seeing them brush aside PSV Eindhoven 4-1 in the Champions League.

The Bavarians were on a three-game winless streak heading into the Group D encounter at the Allianz Arena, including back-to-back Bundesliga draws and a 1-0 loss to Atletico Madrid in Europe.

However, Bayern bounced back in style as goals from Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski and Arjen Robben saw the German giants down PSV and make it 14 successive home victories in the competition.

"It was a good reaction and our attitude was good," Ancelotti said. "The game against Frankfurt was a good lesson for us.

"We played well and that is what I wanted to see from the players - a reaction. They understood."

Bayern still trail Atletico by three points in Group D, although both can wrap up their places in the last 16 with wins in a fortnight.

It will then likely come down to the clash between the two at the Allianz Arena in their final group fixture to determine who tops the group and is consequently seeded for the last 16, although Ancelotti is not getting ahead of himself.

"We need to continue giving our best if we want to keep our chance of winning the group alive," said the Italian on his club's website.
