Bayerns injured Robben sits out Pilsen trip

Dutch winger Arjen Robben sat out Bayern Munich's flight to Viktoria Pilsen for Tuesday's Champions League clash as he continues to recover from a groin strain.

The 29-year-old also missed Bayern's 2-1 Bundesliga win at Hoffenheim on Saturday and missed Monday's trip to the Czech Republic to begin his rehabilitation programme.

Providing CSKA Moscow fail to win at Manchester City the same night, Bayern can confirm their place in the knock-out stages if they beat Czech champions Pilsen on Tuesday, having already trounced Viktoria 5-0 in Munich a fortnight ago.

Having conceded just one goal in their three Group D victories so far, defending champions Bayern have been warned not to be arrogant in Pilsen.

"We have to confront this match with respect and not arrogance," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

"I hope that the team will do as well as in the previous three Champions League games."
