European champions Bayern Munich are set to open their first overseas office in New York from April 1 to help them break into the north American market.

The Champions League holder's Manhatten office will initially start with three employees, including Colorado-born managing director Rudolf Vidal, a former reserve team goalkeeper and an employment lawyer with marketing experience.

At the end of July, Pep Guardiola's Bayern will play at least two games in New York and Portland and on August 6 they will take on the All-Star team of the Major Soccer League (MLS) as part of their US tour.

Late last year, US-broadcaster Fox announced a five-year deal with the German Football League (DFL) that will give them broadcast rights in the Americas and Asia starting in 2015/16, which will open the Bundesliga to a much wider market.
