Bayern have won nothing yet, says Dortmund star

Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller says the Bundesliga title race is far from over, with his side second in the German league and three points behind leaders Bayern Munich.

After four straight league wins, with 13 goals scored and just one goal conceded, defending champions Dortmund have put themselves up amongst the league leaders.

With three points separating ninth and second place, Weidenfeller says there is everything still to play for, especially as Bayern suffered a shock 2-1 league defeat at Hanover last Sunday.

"Sure, Bayern have an exceptional team with strong individual players, but they haven't won the championship title yet," Weidenfeller told Saturday's Bild. "The season is still long and a lot can happen.

"We are now playing like we did last season -- just look at us."

Bayern host Nuremberg on Saturday in the 183rd Bavarian derby, while Dortmund are at Stuttgart.

Dortmund are eager to extend their winning streak, ahead of a trip to Munich's Allianz Arena to face Bayern on November 19 that is shaping up to be a title showdown.

"I have said for weeks that after the game against Bayern we may well be tied for top place," said Weidenfeller.

"Back then, it was considered a big task, but now it's not looking so presumptuous."

Bayern captain Philipp Lahm has admitted that Dortmund are Munich's "fiercest rivals" for the title, which his side are desperate to win after finishing last season without any silverware.
