Robert Lewandowski's late goal earned 10-man Bayern Munich a 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday to keep Pep Guardiola's men at the top of the Bundesliga standings.

Kevin Volland gave Hoffenheim the lead after less than 10 seconds, but Thomas Muller levelled before the break.

The hosts missed a penalty after Jerome Boateng was sent off for Bayern, who nevertheless came away with all three points thanks to Lewandowski's last-minute winner.

Wolfsburg snatched a point from their trip to Cologne with a late goal from former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner earning them a 1-1 draw.

Simon Zoller had put the Goats in front, but Bendtner's leveller in the 83rd minute preserved Wolfsburg's unbeaten start to the season.

Manchester City target Kevin De Bruyne had a chance to win it for the Wolves but he was denied deep into stoppage time, with Cologne good value for their point.

Two late goals saw Hamburg rescue a win from the jaws of defeat against Stuttgart, prevailing 3-2 in an extraordinary game at the Volksparkstadion.

Two goals from Daniel Ginczek, sandwiching an Ivo Ilicevic effort, gave Stuttgart a 2-1 lead at half-time.

Their hopes of holding on to victory were dealt a blow when Florian Klein earned his marching orders with more than half an hour still to be played.

However, it was not until the final six minutes that Hamburg were able to take advantage of the extra man, Pierre-Michel Lasogga levelling before Johan Djourou grabbed a winner to leave Stuttgart at the foot of the table following two defeats and Hamburg celebrating their first win of the campaign.

Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways after their midweek 1-0 Champions League defeat to Lazio by beating Hannover by the same scoreline at the Niedersachsenstadion.

A trademark Hakan Calhanoglu free-kick in the 18th minute was enough to earn Roger Schmidt's men all three points and keep them on maximum points from their first two games of the season, after they beat Hoffenheim on the opening weekend.

Darmstadt continued their unbeaten start to the season by picking up a 1-1 draw at Schalke in their first away game in the Bundesliga in over 33 years.

Konstantin Rausch, the only Darmstadt player who had already beaten the Royal Blues in the past, gave the league returnees the lead in the ninth minute and it took Schalke until early in the second half to level.

Julian Draxler, who continues to be linked with a move to Juventus this summer, opened his account for the season, turning in a cross from Schalke's summer recruit Franco Di Santo.

Johannes Geis then rattled the crossbar with a free-kick but Darmstadt held on to draw their second game since returning to the German top flight.

Eintracht Frankfurt and Augsburg both picked up their first point of the campaign thanks to a 1-1 draw at the Waldstadion.

Caiuby gave the Bavarian guests the lead midway through the first half but Frankfurt captain Marco Russ denied them their first win with an equaliser in the 86th minute.
