Bayern Munich's director of sport Christian Nerlinger on Saturday criticised former coach Louis van Gaal, set to become Ajax's general director in 2012, saying the Dutchman caused divisions in the Munich squad.
"We are now a club where everyone pulls in the same direction again," Nerlinger told Munich paper the Sueddeutsche Zeitung with Bayern top of the German league and having qualified for the Champions League's knock-out phase.
"Without the frictions and side-shows of last season."
After two seasons in charge of Bayern, Van Gaal was sacked in April with his side fourth in the German league and outside the three Champions League places.
Having won the domestic double in his first season, as well as taking Munich to the Champions League final where they lost to Inter Milan, van Gaal's unorthodox style caused problems in his second season.
"In the second year, unfortunately, we saw the more negative things: his behaviour and deficiencies in our style of play," said Nerlinger, as Bayern struggled defensively when they failed to win any silverware.
Van Gaal remains under contract with Bayern until June 2012 and is set to link up with Ajax - the club where he made his name as a coach guiding them to the 1995 Champions League trophy - only after his Munich deal expires.
The Dutchman is reported to have approached the German league leaders about terminating his contract earlier to allow him to take over at Ajax in January.
