Wiseman To Be The Rock of Gibraltar

Barnsley defender Scott Wiseman is set to make his international bow after being named in the first ever Gibraltar squad

.The 27 year old who has made 103 appearances for The Reds has been selected to face Slovakia next Tuesday.

It will be Gibraltar’s first ever match after being recognised by UEFA in May. The squad consists of 19 local players alongside Wiseman, Chester’s former Sheffield United defender Danny Higginbotham and Farsley’s Adam Priestley.

Meanwhile one of Barnsley’s emerging young guns has netted his first ever international goal.

18 year old midfielder Paul Digby scored England Under 19’s second in a convincing 4-1 triumph over Hungary yesterday. Norwich’s Josh Murphy, Derby’s Mason Bennett and Aston Villa’s Callum Robinson were also on the scoresheet.
