Barnsley manager Simon Davey was delighted after seeing his side ease their relegation fears with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Stoke City.
Istvan Ferenczi netted his fourth goal in three games shortly before half-time at the Britannia Stadium to seal a crucial win that lifted the Tykes three points clear of the drop-zone.
Davey commented: "We knew this was a tough game and we knew it was going to be a backs-to-the-wall job.
"But we had a game-plan and pulled it off, so I think we deserved the three points.
"We worked hard to keep them out, to make sure they didn't get in on our goal and our lads stuck to the task and they deserved what they got.
"We said before if we get a chance we have got to be clinical and put it away, we had one shot and one goal so I think it worked well.
"We are happy to be winning games at this stage of the season. I think the important thing is that we try and keep this run going.
"If we can get a couple more wins who knows what can happen, but we are keeping our feet firmly on the ground."
