Top scorer poised to leave

Barnsley appear set to lose leading goalscorer Ricardo Vaz Te after a fee was agreed with Championship leaders West Ham.

It was reported that the Reds turned down a bid from the Hammers last night but they have come back with an improved offer, rumoured to be around £1.5m, which has been accepted.

Vaz Te travelled to London to talk to West Ham this morning, and is expected to sign a deal with the Hammers.

The 25-year-old Portuguese striker has netted 12 goals in all competitons for the Reds this season but his contract is up at the end of the season so Keith Hill appears to have cashed in on his prized asset.

More to follow when it is announced.
