Tykes to open Davey talks

Barnsley chairman Gordon Shepherd has confirmed that he is about to open talks with boss Simon Davey about a new contract.
Davey was only awarded a deal until the end of this season when he was handed the Oakwell role on a permanent basis in January.
But, after guiding the Tykes to sixth in the Championship table, he could be rewarded with an extended contract.
Shepherd told the Yorkshire Post: "We're only ten games into the season, but Simon is doing an excellent job and we think it's both expedient and sensible to start talking now.
"We've had preliminary talks and the relationship is absolutely first-class."
