Tykes tie up Mattis

Barnsley have completed the protracted signing of Bury's Dwayne Mattis for a fee of £50,000.

Earlier in the week an angry Shakers boss Chris Casper slammed the Tykes for tabling a 'derisory' offer for the midfielder, who is out of contract in the summer.

But a fee of £50,000 which would rise to £75,000 should Barnsley avoid relegation from the Championship this season, has been agreed and Mattis has signed a deal that will keep him at Oakwell until the summer of 2009.

Mattis, 25, moved to Gigg Lane in 2004 on a free transfer from Huddersfield Town and made 109 appearances for the Shakers.
