Tykes snap up Peru star

Barnsley have paid an undisclosed six-figure fee to capture Peru international striker Miguel Angel Mostto Fernandez-Prada.

The 29-year-old, who prefers to be known as Miguel Mostto, has agreed a two-year contract with the Tykes.

He will officially complete his switch from Peruvian Primera Division side Cienciano on July 1, subject to international clearance and a successful work permit application.

Mostto scored 26 goals in 78 games for Coronel Bolognesi before joining Cienciano in 2004.

He has found the net 59 times in 134 games for Cienciano and was the leading scorer in Peru's top-flight in 2005 and 2006.
