Barnsley have agreed a deal to sign German goalkeeper Heinz Muller from Norwegian club Lillestrom.

The 29-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Tykes and just needs international clearance to begin his stint at Oakwell.

Muller played for Hannover 96 and Arminia Bielefeld in his homeland, before heading to Norway in 2004 to link up with Odd Grenalnd.

Tykes manager Simon Davey told the club's official website: "It is very pleasing when all the hard work put in by the board and management pays off and we bring in a player we have chased for the last eight weeks.

"We are delighted to have Heinz with us and he will be another fine addition to our squad."

Meanwhile, midfielder Sam Togwell, 22, has signed a new contract extension to keep him at Oakwell until the summer of 2009.
