Tykes rue Jamal injury blow
14 Aug 2008 - 07:33:49
Barnsley midfielder Jamal Campbell-Ryce will be out of action for at least three weeks.
The 25-year-old played over 30 games for the Tykes last season and was expected to start in midfield for the South Yorkshire side when they faced QPR last weekend.
However, an awkward fall in training ruled him out of the first match of the Championship season and the Carling Cup tie with Crewe.
Scans have now revealed the Jamaica international suffered a dislocated elbow in the fall, keeping him out of the side until September.
"He is in a cast which will come off in three weeks and then we will be able to work hard on his fitness to get him back in," physio Matt Konopinski told the club's official website.
