Barnsley manager Simon Davey has agreed a deal with Derby County to bring Wales international Lewin Nyatanga back to Oakwell on loan.
The 18-year-old, who made ten appearances during a loan spell with the club last term, will remain with the Tykes until the beginning of January.
"We're delighted to have signed Lewin after tracking him all summer," Davey told Barnsley's official website.
"We feel it shows just how far this club has come that we've been able to beat a number of so called bigger teams in the Championship and from around Europe to get him.
"We're all delighted to have Lewin back and are looking forward to a successful season."
Despite his tender age, Nyatanga has already made 37 first-team appearances for the Rams.
