Barnsley are keen to keep Luke Steele at Oakwell for the rest of the season after allowing Tony Warner to return to Fulham at the end of his one-month loan spell with the Tykes.

Steele joined the club on loan from West Brom in mid-February and enjoyed a magnificent debut, starring in the FA Cup fifth round success at Liverpool.

He replaced Warner as boss Steve Davey's first-choice shot-stopper after Heinz Muller was ruled out for the rest of the season with injury.

Warner made only three first-team appearances during his month with the club.
