Tykes owner appears in court

Cryne, Timothy Whiston, Stephen Graham and John Whelan are accused of conspiracy to make misleading statements to the stock market about iSoft. Cryne, 58, from Glossop, Derbyshire, is the firm's former chairman. Whiston, 42, from Lymm, Cheshire, is a former chief executive. Graham, 45, from Knutsford, Cheshire, and Whelan, 43, from Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, are former directors. The Financial Services Authority alleges the men misled the stock market about the firm's financial position. The four men appeared at City of Westminster Magistrates' Court and were granted unconditional bail. They are due before Southwark Crown Court on February 5. iSoft, which was involved in the NHS software programme known as the National Programme for IT, has since been sold to Australian software firm IBA Health, which renamed itself iSoft after the takeover in October 2007.
