Tykes loan in Arismendi

Barnsley boss Mark Robins is delighted to have secured the signing of Stoke City midfielder Diego Arismendi on a season-long loan deal.

The 22-year-old Uruguay international made just two appearances for the Potters last season and finished the campaign out on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion.

However, Robins is confident that the South American will prove to be a big hit at Oakwell.

He told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have brought Diego into the club and I am very pleased that Stoke City have allowed him to come here.

"He is a full Uruguay international. He has not played much for Stoke, but they signed him for a big fee last summer and I am looking forward to working with him.

"He is a very good player and will compete for a place in our midfield. Diego is another great addition to our squad."
