Barnsley boss Simon Davey is hopeful of re-signing Everton midfielder Anderson Silva on loan when the transfer window reopens.
Silva, 25, is currently midway through a three-month loan spell at Oakwell, but will return to the Premier League club in November.
Under Football League rules the Tykes cannot extend the loan beyond the three-month mark, but could return to sign him for a second temporary spell when the transfer window reopens in the new year.
"He has improved us as he brings a Brazilian flair with a European work-rate," Davey told the club's official website.
"As we're outside the transfer window, he'll have to go back to Everton after 93 days, so he'd return there anyway at the end of November."
