Tykes eye Seagulls ace
15 Aug 2006 - 16:23:27
Barnsley have confirmed their interest in Brighton's highly-rated striker Colin Kazim-Richards.
The 19-year-old wants out of Brighton after handing in a transfer request and, despite previously reported interest from Wolves, the Seagulls confirmed there have been no bids made for the former Bury hitman.
However, while the Tykes have yet to approach Brighton about Kazim-Richards' availability, chairman Gordon Shepherd has admitted they are preparing a swoop.
He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "The manager and his coaching staff rate him very highly and believe there is a chance we could get him.
"He's lightning fast and we feel he could do a job for us.
"At the moment we're not sure how much they want for him, but I would think it would be in the region of £100,000-£125,000."
