Barnsley have finally been given permission to play Hugo Roberto Colace after receiving international clearance for the Argentine midfielder.
The Tykes agreed a deal with Newell's Old Boys to sign the 24-year-old back in June, but had been denied the opportunity to hand Colace his debut due to red tape.
He is now available for their Championship clash with Blackpool next Saturday.
The 24-year-old has endured a frustrating start to his career in England as he was also unable to feature for Barnsley's reserves.
"I am very pleased, although this whole thing has taken far too long, but at last Hugo is available for us," manager Simon Davey told the club's official website.
"He is now another player that we have available to pick rather than just a body in training."
