Tykes win Government backing
Barnsley will cut the size of their playing squad next season in order to subsidise a reduction in all adult season-ticket prices at Oakwell by 20%.
Mr Sutcliffe said: "I applaud Barnsley's move in cutting the price of their season tickets for the 2009/10 campaign.
"In these tough economic times this will help ease the weight of the club's loyal fans' wallets, but also encourage new supporters to Oakwell.
"Offering children under 12 a free season-ticket if they-re accompanied by an adult, is also a fantastic initiative that will help Barnsley build a new fanbase for the future."
