Tykes undone by Kanu

19 February 2011 06:30
A late strike from Kanu gifted Portsmouth a first home win since October in an otherwise dull encounter with Barnsley. The Nigerian striker came on as a late substitute and provided Pompey with the cutting edge they had lacked for most of the match, firing past Luke Steele with 10 minutes remaining. The 1-0 victory moves Pompey up to 16th, nine points clear of the drop zone, and just two places behind the Tykes who remain 14th.
