Tykes losing patience with Gray deal
The much-travelled 31-year-old has agreed to move back north but Barnsley's patience is running out following Charlton's inability to sanction the deal.
Davey said: "We're still talking to Charlton about Andy Gray but they remain under a transfer embargo until their takeover is completed.
"We were expecting it to go through (on Wednesday) but again there have been more delays. Everything is agreed and we are just waiting on Charlton saying we can push it through.
"Our patience is wearing a little thin though and we are coming nearer to the end of the transfer window.
"We're very close to taking the deal off the table and going elsewhere. We will have to decide very soon when we draw a line under the whole thing and go somewhere else."
