Muller has spent the last two seasons at Oakwell following a free transfer from Norwegian side Lillestrom and quickly established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship. But the 31-year-old, who has reportedly agreed a three-year deal with Mainz, lost his place in Barnsley's starting line-up to Luke Steele in the last four matches of the season. Mainz general manager Christian Heidel told Frankfurter Rundschau newspaper: "Everything is said, this is a done deal." Steele has ended speculation over his future by signing a new deal with the South Yorkshire side.
