Barnsley have completed the loan signing of New Zealand's teenage international Chris Wood from West Brom. The 18-year-old, who featured in all three of his country's group games in last summer's World Cup, has signed a 93-day emergency loan with the Tykes and will go straight into their squad for Saturday's game at Reading. Wood has made two substitute appearances this season for West Brom and 27 in total since arriving at their academy from Auckland in 2008. He will be competing with recent loan signing Garry O'Connor, Andy Gray, Liam Dickinson and Jeronimo Morales for a place in manager Mark Robins' starting line-up.
