The Barnsley manager, linked with strikers Andy Gray and Alan Lee, midfielder Charlie Adam and winger Adam Hammill among others, is also hoping to add several more players to his squad before the start of the new season. Davey told the club's official website: "We have the two trialists out here with us, Maxime Chanot and David Preece, and they will train with us this week. "We are still working towards bringing in new faces and are on the phone over here trying to see what we can do. We will have to see what happens." Teenage French defender Chanot was released by Sheffield United at the end of the season after spending a spell on loan with Mansfield and former Aberdeen goalkeeper Preece, 32, has spent the last three seasons in Denmark with Silkeborg IF and OB Odense.
