Birmingham match postponed due to frozen pitch.
Barnsley Football Club have just confirmed today’s match with Birmingham City is OFF after the Oakwell pitch failed a 12:30pm inspection.
A statement on the club’s official website read:
Today's match with Birmingham City has been called off due to a frozen pitch.
A later date for this fixture will be released in due course.
The under-soil heating was activated in line with the conditions; unfortunately the excessive minus temperatures last night has left the pitch slightly hard in some areas.
