Steele seeks top-half finish

Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele has ruled out a late play-off charge after last weekend's defeat to Reading but has targeted a top-half finish this season. The 1-0 home defeat means they head into the free weekend in 16th place, 13 points adrift of the top six with eight games left. Steele told the club's official website: "It was a disappointing result - everyone was down. The game was tight and the way we lost and how we conceded the goal was gutting. We wanted to head into the international break with something to build on. "Monday morning we picked ourselves up and we have to finish in a respectable position. There were tired legs, but a few injuries and niggles as well contributed towards that. "I'd say the target is the top-half. After Saturday, if we'd have beaten them, the play-offs might have been realistic. "We want something to show at the end of the season and finish in a respectable position."
