Orient manager now leading candidate Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade is now red hot favourite to take the manager's post at Oakwell. Slade is reported to have applied for the post and now looks set to take the job after the Newham Reporter said he was set to move north. His odds of taking the job have today gone from 16/1 to a staggering 1/10! The Reds preferred choice, Rochdale boss Keith Hill, ruled himself out of the running yesterday. 50-year-old Slade holds a relatively impressive management CV having taken the now defunct Scarborough to the 4th round of the FA Cup, disposing of higher league opposition Doncaster, Port Vale and Southend along the way and eventually bowing out with a 1-0 defeat at home to Chelsea. He has spent time with Grimsby, guiding them to the League 2 play-offs and also Yeovil and Brighton before joining Leyton Orient in 2010. The O's finished one point outside the League One play-offs in 2010/11.
